Rain holidays brighten daycare services

As rain holidays dragged alone interminably, there was one group of people who were making hay while the sun was not shining- temporary daycare services.

With many working couples forced to either work from home or travel to office at least once a week, couples sought out day care centres that could entertain their children for a few hours everyday. While some businesses were closed themselves, a few managed to stay open during the rains and welcomed the kids.

“Many of us went back to the playschools that our kids studied in,” said Varshini, mother of 6-year-old Adwaith. “It becomes very difficult when holidays are announced early in the morning, and we have no idea what is in store for the day.”
