Post- Deepavali, schools start preparing for the next academic year admissions, and this year is no different. Schools have started putting out notices for admissions for 2018-19.
Some IGCSE schools organize orientation sessions and parent information sessions, while others go in directly for admissions. Kids Central, for example, held a parent information session recently.

All across OMR, new admissions for preschools started about a month before Vijayadasami, and parents have enrolled kids in playschool from Vijayadasami.
A few schools had the traditional aksharabhyasam for all the new admissions, whereas a few others had special festivities for the occasion.
Most schools are still accepting admissions.
