Seven of family in suicide attempt; safe

SHOLINGANALLUR: Seven members of a family, including four children under the age of 11, escaped a suicide attempt. Venkaiah, who retired from the military, managed a working women’s hostel on Anna Street, and lived on the premises with his two daughters and four grandchildren. The family was found unconscious on the terrace of the hostel on Friday, and were admitted in the hospital. Preliminary investigations suggest that the family had consumed soft drinks laced with poison. All seven were out of danger, according to a report.
