Corpn uses fish to control mosquitoes

The Corporation of Chennai has undertaken a new initiative to control the spread of mosquitoes in vacant plots this monsoon: Gambusia fish.

Vacant plots are fertile grounds for water stagnation and mosquito breeding and the Corporation has introduced a new weapon against mosquitoes: Gambusia fish, which feed on mosquito larvae.

If you are aware of a nearby vacant plot where mosquitoes are likely to breed, please call your ward corporation office and suggest the use of Gambusia fish for the same. The idea has already taken off in Perungudi, one of the low lying areas in this stretch of Chennai.
